Barbara Cagle

I am a Highly Qualified Certified teacher in Florida with certification in Language Arts 6-12 AND Multi Grades Integrated Curriculum 5-9. I am currently working on my reading endorsement and have completed Reading Comp I, II, and III.

I have experience teaching at risk high school level students in the Pre-Graduation Initiative program through Duval County.

Prior to becoming a teacher I had the opportunities to teach at various levels which included:

• Volunteer teacher of Intro to Computers at Custer Middle School in South Dakota
  
• Hired teacher of Accessing and Using AOL for Seniors through the retail store, The Computer Mill.
• Guest speaker/teacher at various functions and delivering various 'lessons' based on the needs of the represented groups
  

Formerly I have been fortunate to own, build, and operate several entrepreneurships including: 

• Custom Dance Costumes (designed, made, sold)
  
• Freelance Website Design & Desktop Publishing
• Computer Use and internet research tutoring
• A&B Tackle and Game, Inc. (sold to partner)
  
• Sparkle and Shine Janitorial Services
• ON Call emergency Catering Services
  

 In addition to these experience in the 'real world' I bring the lifetime experiences of working in several fields including:

• Media (Clear Channel) 1998 - 2000
  

 I , like anyone else, have had some hard times and I am not adverse to sharing my experiences with my students.  Whether it is being homeless, raising children after having been widowed (twice), having been a battered spouse, or loosing parents (father at 18, mother in 2008).

My current husband of 10 years, and I , have 9 children who have all grown and begun successful lives. Because we are now empty nesting, I have found new children to nurture in my students.
